I spoke with 2 people today on the phone. They were both wonderful and helped me with everything I had questions about.

Everybody on staff is so helpful and friendly! I have spent two semesters at KCC and have not doubted my attendance for one second. So many resources are available to students and advisors that are able to help the needs of any student. At KCC I feel that I am wanted to succeed and can follow a course degree path at my own pace and with limited frustration.

I met a lot of friendly and devoted people today at Kankakee Community College. Katelin helped me with my class schedules and clinicals. She explained each step so I am fully aware of what to expect. Which I am grateful for in lieu of being out of school for 42 years. 😁

Fantastic teachers who go above and beyond to show they care. Very nice classrooms and machines to work with.

Everyone I have spoken to has been very helpful. Specifically, my advisor, Wesley, Walker was very helpful when I decided to change my career path and choose my classes for the Spring. He explained all my options and helped guide me deciding what classes I want to choose. Everything has overall been a positive experience.

As an older student returning to school, I expected the journey to be challenging, but it has turned out to be both rewarding and encouraging. The instructors at Kankakee Community College are excellent—always ready to help, supportive, and invested in student success. The students are just as impressive: eager to learn, willing to help each other, and open to collaboration. KCC has created an environment where learning feels possible at any stage of life, and I am grateful to be a part of it.

I met with my advisor to discuss changing my Associate of Arts focus from Sociology to Psychology. He took the time to carefully update my program and map out the courses I still need to complete. He was incredibly kind, understanding, and thorough throughout the process. I also shared that I need to retake my math placement to bypass remedial courses, and he was so encouraging about it—his positive reinforcement really helped ease my math anxiety. He even scheduled my math class for the spring, showing real confidence in my ability to place into it. I left the meeting feeling supported and motivated.

KCC has been such a positive and uplifting experience, they encourage growth not just at the academic or occupational level, but at the personal level as well. Also, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR ANYTHING, even if you go to the department or faculty member that doesn't cover what you need, they will direct you to who does.

My advisor was super helpful and guided me through everything I needed to get things started. It's a bit daunting starting college again but everyone I encountered was nice and amazingly helpful. So glad to have them helping me on this educational journey! Thank you
